As a world-renowned Clinical Hypnotherapist and self-made millionaire, Dr. Steve G. Jones understands the powerful relationship between the brain and money. In order for people to experience financial success, they first need to remove any barriers to wealth within their subconscious minds. Using hypnosis and neuro-linguistic programming, Dr. Steve helps people remove these barriers to take their lives to the next level of success.
2. Money has no prerequisites. You are already enough.
One of the things about having a scarcity mindset is believing that you have to be a certain kind of person to be wealthy.
For example, you need to be top-of-the-class smart, have a career in dentistry or law, be a ‘trust-fund baby,’ or a workaholic who never has time for fun.
The truth is that wealth has no ‘prerequisites’ – ANYONE can become wealthy, no matter their background.
And whether or not you realize it yet, you have your own special strengths and talents that have the potential to bring great wealth into your life!
In fact, you may not believe it right now, but I guarantee that there is an opportunity waiting for you to turn one of your passions into a source of income… you just need to recognize it.
3. You are not limited by your past.
It doesn’t matter what has happened in your past, your age, or how ‘bad’ you may have been with money… you can still manifest a future of wealth and abundance!
It happened to me. At the lowest point in my life, I was $80,000 in credit card debt, literally living in my office, and on the brink of a nervous breakdown. I just couldn’t see a way out of it.
But now, I can happily say that I am a multi multi-millionaire, free of all debt, and every day of my life is more amazing than I ever dreamed it could be.
How did I get from that point to this point? And, how can you transform your own life in the same way?
Well, that is a story too long for this article. But if you’re interested in learning how I went from being thousands in debt to a cash millionaire in just a few years, then you can check out my story here.
4. Everyone deserves the chance to live a rich, happy life.
Does that family down the road living in that 2-story mansion and driving late-model BMWs really deserve wealth more than you do?
You, just as much as anyone, deserve the chance to live your richest, happiest life.
If money troubles prevent you from living that life right now – a life where you are free to live the way you want – then it’s time to look at your relationship with money and how it is affecting the energy you are producing.
If you feel unhappy, frustrated, or fearful about your finances, unfortunately, these emotions will be causing you to manifest only more of what you DON’T want – more doubt, more fear, and more scarcity.
In this situation, trying to manifest wealth is like trying to plant a ‘money tree’ in poisoned soil… it simply won’t grow.
But if you can cultivate a mindset of abundance and self-love, this will be the foundation from which your financial success can flourish.
5. By manifesting wealth in your own life, you can help enrich others' lives.
One of the great things about having money is that you can use it to help others. Giving back to help others in need and spreading the message of abundance is incredibly rewarding.
One way you can do this is by donating money or resources to charity.
I personally support many charities – particularly the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as my Mom died of leukemia and the American Lung Association as my Dad died of emphysema.
Another way to do this is by helping your children to develop an abundant mindset and educating them about managing money so that they too can enjoy an abundant future.
Personally, through my work as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and wealth coach, I try to help as many people as I can to free their minds from barriers to wealth and experience the financial freedom they deserve.
You are worthy of wealth. You are deserving of wealth. And now, you just need to start believing it so that you can start manifesting all of the wealth you deserve!

As a world-renowned Clinical Hypnotherapist and self-made millionaire, Dr. Steve G. Jones understands the powerful relationship between the brain and money. For people to experience financial success, they first need to remove any barriers to wealth within their subconscious minds. Using hypnosis and neuro-linguistic programming, Dr. Steve helps people remove these barriers to take their lives to the next level of success.
Did you know that one of the biggest reasons most people don’t get the wealth and the life they want is that they don’t actually KNOW what they want?
Although you may think you want to be wealthy and successful, the truth is that the majority of people actually spend more time thinking about what they DON’T want rather than what they DO want.
For example, have you ever had any of these thoughts?
“I don’t want to be poor.”
“I hate being in debt.”
“I don’t want to be paying rent forever.”
“I’m tired of struggling.”
“I don’t want my kids to go without.”
“I don’t want to be a failure.”
Yes, most of us have had these kinds of thoughts before…
And the problem is that focusing on what you don’t want actually prevents you from attracting wealth in your life.
Instead of manifesting that promotion, that business opportunity, or that unexpected windfall, you end up manifesting more debt, bills, and hardships!
So, how are self-made millionaires different?
The difference is that even before they became rich, they DREAMED of being wealthy and successful.
They literally had a “rich brain.”
Rather than dwelling on what they lacked in their lives, they focused on the steps they would take each day to lead them to the successful future they desired.
Today I want to help you develop a millionaire's mindset by teaching you these three simple steps to programming your mind for wealth.
These steps have helped me get to where I am today, and I hope they help you get on the path to achieving great success!
Step #1: Set a target
The first step is to set a specific goal for your financial future.
Think about what you really want, and try asking yourself the following questions…
How much money do I want to have in the bank?
What kind of job and salary do I want to have?
Am I happy working for others, or do I want to become my OWN boss?
What kind of assets do I want to own?
What kind of LIFESTYLE do I want to live?
It may be that you want to earn an income of over $100k per year, it may be to own a house mortgage-free, it may be to start up a successful business, or it may be to make an extra couple of hundred bucks a week so that you can start living the lifestyle you want.
Any target you want to achieve is great – the important thing is that it is what YOU want for your future, not what anyone ELSE wants.
P.S. Don’t worry about HOW you will achieve this goal right now (that’s the job of your subconscious!) – come up with a target that makes you feel really, really excited.
Step #2: Determine your REASONS for setting that target.
It’s important to know why you want to be wealthy because these reasons can determine whether you will achieve your goal.
Is it because you hate the job you’re in now, or because you’re terrified of the thought of struggling with debt and bills forever?
Or, is it because you have a dream to turn your passion into your day job or your dream of becoming financially free so that you can live your dream lifestyle?
Wanting something out of passion and determination is a million times more powerful than wanting something out of fear, so your reasons must be positive and motivating.
For me, the reason I wanted to be wealthy was for financial freedom.
I’ve never had a costly taste, and my luxury assets stretch as far as a nice condo and a Mercedes AMG… which of course, are both very nice to have.
But what I love most about being wealthy is freedom.
I love being able to spend the majority of my time helping people and traveling the world. And I love knowing that I would never have to work again even if I never made another penny in my life.
So, what is it about wealth that YOU want? What are the good things that would come from having an abundance of money? What would financial freedom enable you to do?
Here are some ideas:
To be able to provide a great lifestyle for my family.
To be able to travel and go on vacations when I choose
To be able to buy my dream house or a dream car.
To be able to do the kind of work I love and work the hours I choose
To feel successful, valued, and proud of what I have achieved.
Give yourself some time to think and then write down 2-3 reasons why you want to be wealthy.
Step #3: Align your brain with your target
The last step is to align your brain with your target.
The clearer and more specific you are about what you want to achieve, the harder your brain will work to make it happen.
Right now, I want you to actually visualize yourself achieving the goals you have set yourself and picture how you will be FEELING in that moment.
Seeing that million-dollar balance when you log in to your online banking
Picturing yourself opening that dream business…
Welcoming your friends and family to your beautiful new home (that you own mortgage-free)…
Picturing yourself picking up that dream car from the lot…
Telling your kids about the amazing holiday, you’re about to take them on…
Whatever your dream is, the more you practice visualizing in your mind, the more likely it is to become your reality.
Your subconscious mindsets out to attract into your life the things you think about MOST. So, make sure that the things you think about are things that you want.
Keep going over these three steps, and as these thoughts, images, and feelings of wealth are absorbed through repetition by your subconscious, you'll soon find your life beginning to change in amazing ways you’d never dreamed possible.

Would a millionaire’s brain look different from yours in an MRI machine?
But there is something unique about the way millionaires think that makes them more successful than others.
So if you want to manifest more money, more success, and more happiness in your life, then adopting these seven millionaire mind hacks is a great place to start.
Here’s number one…
#1: “My mind is like an iPhone that needs lifetime upgrades.”
Just like your iPhone, all self-made millionaires understand that your mind needs regular ‘software upgrades’ to fuel your success.
In fact, most millionaires I know are almost addicted to learning and upgrading their skills.
Why? Because the world is a constantly changing place – and the faster you can adapt to new, innovative ways of doing things or reach out and grab new opportunities, the more money there will be for you at the finish line.
#2: “My time is money.”
Millionaires realize that their time is precious, and they pride themselves on their swift decision-making.
Warren Buffet is a great example of this. He lives by the mantra of ‘get the facts, make a decision, and don’t look back.’
Believe me; I know how daunting life-changing decisions can be, especially when it comes to your career or financial future. But the more time you spend hemming and hawing, the more productive, money-making time you are losing out on.
So in the future, try asking yourself these questions; ‘Is this likely to move me closer to my goals? Does it have minimal negative consequences?’
If the answer to both is yes, then go for it and don’t look back.
#3: “No excuses.”
Wealthy people pride themselves on having a “no excuses” attitude, where they own 100% of their successes and 100% of their failures.
Think about how much responsibility big company executives have on their shoulders. At the end of the day, they are the ones who have to answer for all of the company’s failures and mistakes.
But the reason they are in that top spot is that they have shown that they can handle this responsibility and own it.
The thing is, if you blame other people or influences for your mistakes, you lose any power over your situation. But when you own your failures, this enables you to take charge, grow, and move forward towards a brighter future.
#4: “I am an unstoppable force of success.”
Another thing that sets millionaires apart is their natural ability to bounce back better than before, no matter what life throws at them.
To attract abundance into your life, you need to have a strong desire for financial freedom and believe that you can achieve it.
No matter how successful you become, there are always going to be roadblocks in your life. But instead of letting these bumps in the road slow you down, you can view them as opportunities to learn from and to fuel your momentum.
Yes, sometimes this means you need to look hard to see the silver lining, and you need to look beyond the short term.
But from my personal experience, as cliché as it sounds, whenever you make it through a difficult situation, you always come out stronger on the other side.
#5: “My best ideas come when I allow my mind to breathe.”
Every great product and business out there is the baby of someone’s creative idea. There is a lot of money to be made by ‘thinking outside the box.’
And this is why most millionaires actively fuel their creative brain by taking short ‘mind breaks’ during the day.
Unlike your usual lunch or coffee breaks, mind breaks are short blocks of time (10-20 minutes) where you literally just let yourself ‘space out’ and relax with no distractions.
By doing this, you give your mind a much-needed holiday from the stress and worries of everyday life and allow your inner creativity to surface.
Seriously, you will be amazed at how your brain suddenly comes up with the wonderful solutions and creative breakthroughs you need.
This is when your truly magic wealth opportunities are born!
#6: “I take action.”
Millionaires always have their foot flat on the accelerator. They are constantly setting new goals and working like crazy to achieve them.
So if you want a wealthy, abundant future, you need to start taking steps towards that future today – rather than leaving it until tomorrow, next week, or next year.
#7: “Discomfort is a natural part of moving forward.”
Wealthy people understand that moving beyond your comfort zone is essential for new growth, and they have learned to embrace any discomfort that comes with it.
So this means to move forward on your journey to greatness, you need to be willing to take the bad with the good when trying new things.
It also means embracing risk and accepting that you might not succeed every time (which is totally normal, by the way).
Heck, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried out a new business idea only to have it flop completely!
But I can also testify that often the biggest risks turn out to have the biggest pay-offs.
Do you have the mindset of a millionaire? Is wealth in your future..?
Did you know that there are particular parts of your brain responsible for creating wealth?
And that these parts MUST be activated for you to manifest financial success?
This is why success and wealth seem to come so EASILY to some people, yet it is such a struggle for others.
Think of it like this…
Rich people (especially self-made millionaires) have incredible neural strength and connectivity in the areas of their brain that make them wealthy and successful…
They literally have a ‘rich brain’…
They have all the mental programming necessary to draw in vast wealth and success, to the point that their brain will see to it that they end up successful no matter what.
Just look at Steve Jobs…
If he’d had a ‘poor brain,’ he would have sunk without a trace…
He grew up with an incredibly challenging life; he flunked out of university, he got fired from multiple jobs…
But because he had a RICH brain with RICH programming, his brain saw that he became wealthy and successful no matter what he did.
On the other hand, if you keep trying to change your life, you keep getting the same lackluster results…
Know that it’s not your fault at all…
It’s simply your brain following its survival instinct to keep you ALIVE – in a way that no longer serves you.
Let me explain…
Your brain is the machine that drives your life.
Every time you do anything, it comes directly from a THOUGHT that your brain had… and without the thought driving the action, there IS no action, right?
So that means…
If you don’t have the thoughts of a rich person, then you’ll never have the life, the money, or the results of a rich person…
Because no wealth is possible without the right kind of THOUGHTS driving it – and the right kind of thoughts aren’t possible without the right kind of brain driving them.
In fact, 80% of the population has a brain that is NOT optimized for wealth and success, and there is a scientifically-backed reason for this.
Your brain is ultimately a survival machine, and its number one priority is to keep you alive and breathing, no matter what…
This means that, to your brain, anything ‘new’ is perceived as a THREAT…
New chances for wealth and success …
Even if they’re good, your brain sees all new things as DANGER…
Now, it’s not that your brain wants you to FAIL; it’s just that it evolved to deal with a very different world…
A world where threats were EVERYWHERE, and every time you left the house (or the cave), you might never come back…
So, as a result, your subconscious mind strives to keep you safe and secure (and struggling) because what it KNOWS is ‘safe’…
You might be broke, but at least you’re ALIVE (and to your brain, that is a success)…
So it keeps you STUCK in the same old life, facing the same problems, worrying the same worries… and never really seeing results.
Does that make sense?
Obviously, our world has evolved well beyond the caveman days, but parts of your brain haven’t, which means…
Your brain is still stuck in the ‘survival wiring’ that keeps you seeing opportunities as risks and BLINDED from all of the skills, talents, and mental abilities necessary for making money…
If you can’t seem to achieve the financial success you want, it’s because all of the skills necessary to make money have been turned ‘off’ from inside your brain… all because of this simple ‘glitch’ in your brain’s survival programming.
Can you see how a brain that’s operating in this ‘survival state’ of scarcity is a brain that will NEVER be able to bridge the gap and become truly rich?
Without even realizing it, successful people can mentally bypass these self-doubts and survival programming.
They have no mental barriers in place, which prevent them from genuinely believing that they have the ability to create wealth.
And as a result, they are subconsciously guided toward wealth-creating opportunities, situations, and people.
That’s the power of the ‘Rich Brain.’
Yet, here is the great news for you:
Most people, scientists included, used to think that after a certain age, your brain ‘sets’ like concrete… and that all your mental programming and neural pathways are set in stone.
But now, over 40 years of neuroscience research has proven that you CAN change your brain, at ANY age… including the parts of your brain related to wealth and success.
This means, even if you’ve had a ‘poor person’s brain’ all your life…
You can choose to reshape it into a RICH brain…
A brain that’s better, faster, stronger, more powerful than ever before…
A brain that flushes out all of the negative thought programs that kept you stuck and develops powerful mental connections and neural strength in the areas related to money, success, and wealth…
A brain that sees to it that you get rich and more successful in life, no matter what happens.
Take the free personalized quiz below to discover what kind of brain YOU have…
And what you can do to effortlessly reshape it into a wealth-attracting ‘rich brain’ that will finally get you the results you want!
Do you have a ‘Rich Brain’? Is wealth in your future..?
“Don't accept the fear that scarcity exists in any corner of your life. There is enough love, enough time, enough healing to go around. Give what you wish to receive.” ― Jewel.
Lisa, a stay-at-home mom of three kids, recently got back into the workforce. She decided to raise her kids, so she put her property management career on hold for a while.
When Lisa's youngest child started going to junior high school (and her oldest one started college), she applied for a position as vice president of operations at a high-end shopping mall.
As it happened, the current person at the job was just about to leave because he was reassigned to a branch in another city.
So Lisa went to the interview, nailed it, and got the job.
Now, that might not sound so remarkable. On the surface, it all seemed like a straightforward process.
But here's the thing – Lisa used to work the same job at the same place before she opted to stay at home and take care of her family. And when she decided to get back on the old horse several months ago, Lisa had been trying to work there again.
She knew the people well and had a fantastic relationship with them. Plus, they have an excellent working environment, and the benefits were more than substantial.
The only reason she left was her kids, and now she was ready to get back at it again. The problem was that there weren't any vacancies at the company.
Lisa looked for work elsewhere, but she kept her eye on her old job.
In fact, Lisa was about to take an offer from another position she applied for but turned it down at the 11th hour when she got her lucky break.
Here’s the other interesting thing about it. Just a couple of days before Lisa got her old job back, she’d been learning and applying different ways to manifest abundance.
Her sister, Jocelyn, introduced her to the Law of Attraction, and Lisa figured it was worth a shot.
Now, she thought that the breakthrough in her work situation might be just a case of plain luck.
But then, another funny thing happened…
Lisa’s car had broken down in the same week she got her old job back. It wasn’t anything serious, but the repairs came to a total of $147.65
At first, Lisa didn’t think much of it. But then, she got a letter from her bank saying that she got a sizeable rebate on her credit card for being a loyal customer.
You can probably guess exactly how much her cashback reward was.
Lisa was stunned. She’d been using the same card for years now and never got any previous letters about a reward.
At that moment, Lisa knew it was more than just a random instance of good fortune. That letter she held in her trembling hand was a sign from The Universe.

Is It Luck or Destiny Calling?
A lot of people think that life is just a series of circumstances beyond their control.
They don’t understand the kind of power they wield or how it can shape the course of their life.
Lisa’s recent experience showed her that she could attract the things she wants in life. Not only that, she has the incredible potential to influence her very destiny.
We ALL have this ability, and it’s just a matter of developing it like any other skill.
It all starts with mastering your mindset and cultivating the right habits. After that, you'll effortlessly attract more wealth, abundance, and happiness than you know what to do with.
Here’s how to get started today:
#1: Light Up The World
When I think about abundance, there’s no better representation of it than the Sun. When was the last time you were worried there wasn’t enough light for everyone?
Have you ever been afraid that the Sun would go out one day? Probably not.
Sure, maybe billions of years from now, that might happen. But as far as human comprehension is concerned, that's not for another several eternity.
Now think about that light inside you. There's so much goodness, talent, and value that you can offer the world.
When you shine that light on other people around you, there’s no limit to the impact you can make on their lives.
And when you generously share this endless gift…
…you’ll find that it will come back to you in ways you’ve yet to understand.
#2: Unlearn Your Fear of Scarcity
Most of us are afraid that the worst is going to happen. We’re always stocking up, securing the hatches, and steeling ourselves from dangers we’ve yet to face.
In a lot of ways, we’re prisoners of our own fears. It’s mostly because everyone has their share of negative life experiences.
It might leave someone a little jaded, change their outlook on life, and make them defensive.
Worse, it closes their minds to the infinite possibilities and opportunities that life has to offer.
So, they usually have these kinds of thoughts in their head:
– “How can there be any good left in the world when it’s been so unfair to me??”
– “The idea of ‘having it all’ is a myth. You have to settle for whatever life gives you!”
But the fact is that you can have your cake and eat it, too. If you raise your frequency and tap into the energy of the Universe, you’ll find that it can give you everything you want.
When you embrace the reality that life is abundant as you want it to be, you don’t have to pick and choose…
…because it’s ALL yours for the taking!
#3: Detoxify Your Life
People often hold on to things in this world way longer than they should.
It could be junk sitting in your attic or basement. It can also be thoughts, experiences, and memories of events that have come to pass.
All of these might have served a purpose in the past. But as you evolve, you're not the same person you were so many years ago.
Your priorities and motivations have changed, and you have different needs now. You’re more focused and have a clearer sense of direction, so holding on to those things could be slowing you down.
Don’t let that toxic energy drag you back into past behaviors and thought patterns – it’s going to get in the way of attracting abundance in your life.
However, I’m not saying that you should throw away positive memories or experiences. Just let mentally go of the ones that don’t help you anymore, then move forward.
As for physical clutter, getting rid of it is also helpful from a psychological viewpoint. Look into the minimalism movement and figure out how to trim the fat wherever you can.
Joshua Fields Millburn and Ryan Nicodemus, known collectively as The Minimalists, are authors and filmmakers who discuss this topic.
They don't reduce the act of de-cluttering to getting rid of stuff merely. It goes beyond that, and here's what they had to say about it:
“Minimalists don’t focus on having less, less, less. We focus on making room for more: more time, more passion, more creativity, more experiences, more contribution, more contentment, more freedom. Clearing the clutter from life’s path helps make that room.”

#4: Rewrite Your Story
Everyone has a narrative in their head, and it’s often TOXIC.
The story they have about themselves is usually littered with damaging and dis-empowering labels. And people don’t even realize half the time that they’re doing this.
As we talked about in the last point, people hold on to experiences and events for years.
This creates a distorted truth about who they are – and they repeat it in their mind over and over. Here are some examples of what I mean:
– “That kid from high school was right …you’ll always be that awkward loser who can’t get it together. That’s why you’re stuck in the hole you’re in now.”
– “Do you know why your partner broke up with you? It’s because you’re insensitive and don’t care about anyone else but yourself. No wonder you’re alone now.”
– “Your dad always said you didn’t have the guts to pursue an actual career. He knows you’re not strong enough to stand on your own two feet; that’s why he’s always bailing you out.”
These stories and beliefs shouldn’t get a vote in your life anymore. The less you feed them, the less power they’ll have over you.
Remember, part of letting go of that negative baggage is acknowledging it first. Once you’ve come to terms with that story in your head, you can begin rewriting it.
That way, you can create the space in your mind for abundance to GROW.
#5: Reinforce Your Reality
Mindset is crucial, but so is ACTION. You can have the most empowering thoughts in your mind, but doing something about it is the other side of that coin.
More importantly, taking action will help those thoughts of prosperity grow even more. So when you start executing that vision based on your abundant thoughts, it creates a positive feedback loop that feeds on itself.
This is why it's important to match every abundant thought with concrete action. This will REINFORCE the belief that gave birth to it in the first place.
Once you’ve set this cycle in motion, you can keep feeding it until it creates a ripple effect in your life. And even the smallest steps will ADD up and multiply exponentially.
Don’t ignore the little things you can do every day to support your mindset of prosperity.
Savor the small moments where you get to enjoy life’s abundance, then channel that positive energy into action.
Do the job that you have with passion and dedication, even if you’re thinking of resigning. Have brief but meaningful conversations with people, like the barista at your favorite coffee shop or even that co-worker you haven’t been that friendly with.
Looking at the bigger scheme of things, your positive actions put a particular kind of energy into the world.
And that energy will find its way back to you so you can keep doing the same thing, but on a bigger scale.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
In my experience, the BIGGEST challenge of getting into this positive cycle…
… is breaking out of a destructive one first.
That’s what I struggled with for the longest time in my life.
I know what it's like to get caught in a vortex of negative thinking and harmful actions. Abundance was the farthest thing on my mind.
The irony was that I was supposed to be this successful person with the perfect job and the ideal partner. That's what everyone saw when they looked at me, at least.
What I felt inside was another story. I was trapped in the life that I made and burned out from having to put up appearances.
It all changed, however, when I took a different approach to The Law of Attraction.
I tried it a few times before but couldn’t quite manifest the kind of abundance I wanted.
I was getting frustrated with getting limited results…
…until I discovered a small but powerful shift that made ALL the difference.

One of the realities of this world is that you can’t eliminate adversity.
It’s always going to be an uphill climb at some point, especially when you’ve just taken on a new challenge.
You’ve been eating right and working out, but the pounds aren’t quite flying off as you’d hoped.
You started a side income project, but your cash flow hasn’t been anything more than a trickle.
You’ve tried beating your depression with exercise, therapy, and medication, but the dark thoughts still charge at you like a freight train.
That’s called RESISTANCE.
It will always be there, even as you dig deep and do everything in your power to manifest the reality you want.
Being a grown-up means expecting those external circumstances to work against you.
Your best response? PUSH BACK.
Keep your inner world together, and the outside world will follow suit.
Dumbledore once told Harry Potter, “Help will always be given at Hogwarts to those who ask for it.”
Remember: the hero of the story is never a one-person army.
Harry had Hermione and Ron.
Luke had Obi-Wan and Yoda.
And you don’t have to fly solo in YOUR journey.
Think about the people in your inner circle – are they giving you the energy, motivation, and inspiration to succeed?
If the company you keep sneers at growth and being better, maybe it’s time to look for other friends to round out your squad.
Seek people who lead by example and can show you how to overcome that resistance in your life.
Learn from them and let their enthusiasm rub off you.
While you’re at it, use technology to connect to like-minded folks who can help you in your quest. Open your phone or laptop and fire up YouTube, Vimeo, or any other video streaming site.
TED talks, self-help lectures, and tons of other empowering content are literally at your fingertips.
The Universe has too much abundance for you to ignore.
We’re part of a vast human network, and our collective energy affects everyone else in ways we can’t yet fully comprehend.
This network has always been around; the Internet merely accelerated it. Tap into it and unleash its power.
#5: Tune out your Negative Ned (or Nancy)
There’s always that voice in the back of your head that kicks in when life gets tough.
It loves whispering things in your ear, usually at the height of your frustration and despair:
– “You totally blew that one. Why do you even bother trying?” – “You had one job, and you screwed it up like always…I’m not even surprised.” – “Getting back on the horse, are we? I give it a week before you go back to your old ways. Better to quit while you’re ahead!” – “You actually thought he was complimenting you? Oh, bless your heart…it’s called ‘small talk’ and ‘being nice.’”
If you’re like the rest of the human species, you’re going to run into those nasty folks called insecurity, self-doubt, and fear.
They’re going to take up space in your head and try to drown you out with their noise.
Rumi, a 13th-century Persian poet and scholar, knew this well. In this poem, “The Guest House,” he spoke an ancient truth about the human condition.
He likened all our thoughts and feelings – both good and bad – to visitors who stopped by the soul's guest house.
And this line struck me the most:
“The dark thought, the shame, the malice. Meet them at the door laughing and invite them in.”
Once I understood what it meant, I realized that I didn’t have to resist it. I could let my obnoxious guests do their thing and see them out.
It’s not about covering your ears and going, “La la la la! I can’t hear you!”
Acknowledging their existence in your head is NOT the same as letting them win.
The world’s greatest achievers go through bouts of darkness and anger like everyone else.
The main difference is that they use their failures as material for an instruction manual called “What NOT to Do and How to Do It Better The Next Time Around.”
#6: Ditch your story
It would be best if you didn’t stop at managing your negative thoughts, however. You need to peel back another layer and go deeper.
Here’s the thing: you grew up on a set of beliefs, whether you’re aware of it or not.
Your parents, teachers, friends, and pretty much everyone you knew growing up contributed to your programming.
You don’t know it, but you operate on this programming daily.
And it influences every decision you make – and how you choose to see the world.
Now, this can be a good thing if you grew up around people who were positive, motivated, and had a good outlook on life…
…but this is the real world we’re talking about, so NOT everyone had that kind of effect on you.
Somewhere along your journey, someone subtly discouraged you or put some label that you can’t shake off.
Words like “Underachiever,” “Oddball,” “Loser,” “Nerd,” “Small Fry,” “Ugly Duckling,” and “Black Sheep” come to mind…
…and each one is damaging in its own toxic way.
Sadly, most people carry this invisible weight their whole life.
But starting today, you can lay those bricks on the ground and walk away for good. You don’t have to carry that weight for anyone, especially not for THEM.
Stop living your story based on the false narrative that your negative programming created.
All those preconceived beliefs need to go if you want to attract happiness and prosperity in your life.
I’ve seen people achieve INCREDIBLE things – even the impossible – just by doing this one thing.
Lionel, a heroin addict from Michigan, was in and out of jail for the longest time.
But after overdosing within an inch of his life, he decided to ditch his old story.
Even after everyone gave up on Lionel and called him a “screw-up,” he turned it all around.
He let go of the labels that people had been putting on him for YEARS…
…and Lionel decided he didn’t have to be any of those things anymore.
Lionel created a NEW story for himself – one where he was finally free of his crippling addiction and lived a clean, sober life.
What kind of story do YOU want to live out?
#7: Make your affirmations “pop.”
You might have heard of people making declarations about themselves to manifest them as truth, and not just as an opinion.
When you affirm some truth about yourself, it validates the awesomeness within you.
Words of kindness heal the soul and help forgive past failures.
In short, it’s about LOVING yourself.
After all, you can’t give what you don’t have.
However, saying, “Boy, I sure love myself!” doesn’t quite do the trick.
To make your affirmations stick in your subconscious, it needs to have a little something extra.
Don’t stop at “I love me!”- take it up another notch to really drive the point home.
Try these on for size:
– “I love myself so much that I want to use my gifts and share them with the world. I want to take this love inside me and use it to lift other people.” – “By sharing the love I have, I possess the power to change myself for the better, and the world around me.” – “I am love, light, peace, and prosperity. Anger, hate, and scarcity have no power over me.”
– Aside from loving yourself, you can also infuse a dash of humor in your affirmations. Who says you have to be so grim with this Law of Attraction stuff, anyway?
When you add a bit of levity while you affirm yourself, it shushes your Negative Ned (or Nancy) into silence.
Try coming up with statements like these:
– “I’m so awesome that I kick mediocrity in its big fat butt!” – “I’ve come here to be awesome at everything I do and kick major butt. And I’m all out of butts to kick.” – “Did you say something, self-doubt? Sorry, I can’t hear you over the sound of my awesomeness!”
It’s all a matter of finding the right attitude and tone that suits you. Take a crack at making these affirmations, and you’ll soon find your true inner voice.
What matters is that you inject your affirmations with a serious attitude, and above all, ENERGY.
Without that energy, you won’t give your messages enough “juice” to reach the Universe and show up on its radar.
Those who practice the Law of Attraction often combine these affirmations with their meditation sessions to hit two birds with one stone.
And the results are nothing short of phenomenal. Now, about that gift I promised you earlier…
To make the MOST out of your meditation, I’ve got a series of audio tracks to help you manifest incredible benefits in your life.
If you want to be the picture of health…
…naturally, create wealth wherever you go…
…and enjoy authentic, fulfilling relationships…
…you can achieve ALL of that by simply claiming your FREE gift below:
It's a common problem for people not to have a clear course of action in their lives. They might have some big, nebulous goal in their head, but they're not breaking it down enough to make it doable.
They have this tendency to talk themselves out of trying because “it can’t be done.” They see their dreams as this mountain of a task they can’t even begin to take on.
To them, it’s just so massive and intimidating that it’s not even worth putting any energy into it. They content themselves with just thinking about the what-ifs instead of spending time on the how-tos.
But if they made the first step to break down those goals into smaller, manageable chunks…
…they’ll find that working on their dreams isn’t as hard as they thought.
At the heart of it, your goals are nothing more than a bunch of smaller tasks that you need to do every day, every week, and every month.
And most of them are pretty boring when you think about it. But put together, they add up to something huge.
So write down your goals, and keep it somewhere you can go through every day. Please start with the major ones first, then break them down into smaller sub-goals underneath each of those.
Remember, unless you face the reality of making your dreams happen…
…you’ll be no closer to your goals than when you first thought of them.
#2: You Lack Vision
Aside from many folks not having a clear set of goals, they don’t even have a sense of purpose, to begin with. They’re drifting aimlessly in life, not really sure which direction they should take.
In the back of their minds, they’re thinking, “Me? Accomplish that big, scary thing and make a ton of money?”
“I’m fine making $25,000 a year, thanks. I don’t want to disappoint myself if I end up not doing it.”
But like I said, that’s just the fear talking. If you want to lose that feeling, you need to replace it with a positive one instead – like excitement, for instance.
And to do that, why not get EXCITED about your dream scenario?
Visualization is helpful, but you need to paint a crystal-clear picture to get the FULL effect.
The first step is to think about what you want to happen, like putting up an Internet café or a yoga studio.
Ask yourself, “Why is this goal important to me, anyway? How do my values tie into all of this?”
Please get to the core of it: Maybe you want to create more jobs in your community or teach people how to clear their minds and relax.
And what would it be like when you’ve accomplished your goals? Who would be the people around you, and what would they say?
How would it feel making those dreams happen?
Get as specific as you can and add as many details as you want. Once you've painted this vivid image in your head, you're already bridging the gap between thought and reality.
Setting your mental goalposts can give you the drive to take ACTION and manifest those desires into the real world.
#3: You Don’t Believe
Most people make the mistake of believing in something AFTER the fact. But the most successful people in the world do it the other way around.
As you’ve learned from the last point, you need to get excited about a vision before you can start working on it.
And the reason for doing this is to plant the BELIEF that it can happen in the first place.
Without it, you can’t create the space for that desired reality to exist.
So as counterintuitive as it sounds, you’ll have to believe in something before it can manifest itself in the real world.
But it’s not just a matter of telling yourself, “Ok, I believe I can earn enough from my side hustle to quit my full-time job.” The Universe won’t hear weak statements like that.
Instead, try using affirmations to empower yourself. These are declarations you can say out loud (or in your mind) to reinforce the reality you want.
When you repeat it enough times, you’ll cement those things you want to be in your subconscious.
Then you can start working on those goals you wrote down with a newfound sense of rock-solid confidence.
However, it would be best if you phrased these affirmations correctly. Pick a bunch of goals you want to accomplish, and act as if it’s happening in the PRESENT.
That way, you can start moving in that direction and make it happen.
For example, it’s not really useful to say, “One day, I'll become rich and be able to provide for my family.”
Instead, you can rephrase that into a more powerful statement such as this:
“I am wealthy, and my life is filled with abundance every day. I use my wealth to provide for my family.”
By acting like it's happening now, you're giving yourself something to aim for. As I said, belief comes before reality.
To get started, try spending 5-10 minutes on this every day (e.g., first thing in the morning or before bedtime work best). Soon enough, you’ll feel a change in how you go about your day.
#4: You Don’t Have a Plan B
As much as we’d like to live in a perfect world, the best plans can take a wrong turn.
Sometimes, the outcome you had in mind doesn’t align with reality. In cases like those, you need to know how to respond.
People often blame others or hit the panic button as a knee-jerk reaction. The better approach is to control at least some part of the situation, so it doesn't completely go down the drain.
I’ve found that you'll end up avoiding a disaster altogether with this one step.
It helps to have a contingency in place on the off-chance that something goes off the rails. You can plan for potential problems, so you know what to do when the moment calls for it.
More importantly, it would be best if you found the opportunity to grow, even in the most challenging situations.
Ask yourself, “What part of this problem can I use to my advantage? How can I build on this situation so I don't fall flat on my face?”
The more you embrace adversity, the better you can turn it on itself and come out on top.
As the Marines say, “Improvise, adapt and overcome.”
#5: You Lack Discipline
Jocko Willink, a former Navy SEAL and author, talks a great deal about this core value.
He says, “(Self-discipline) will take care of you as nothing else can… it’ll put you on that path to strength, health, intelligence, and happiness. And most importantly, it’ll put you on that path to freedom.”
To cultivate discipline, it starts by deciding to stay FOCUSED on your end goals. That’s going to make some sacrifices, such as staying up late, giving up unhealthy habits, and resisting the desire to procrastinate.
The moment you get distracted from your goals, you’ll erode your foundation of self-discipline.
Studies show that people who can map out a clear daily routine are more likely to stick to it. And in effect, that makes them more productive than others.
Like what you did with your goals, write down a schedule you can work with, and do your best to follow it.
FACT: Humans are wired to crave structure and routine.
It's an anchor for our minds, so we don't drift off into a limbo of wasted potential and mediocrity.
And when you get down to it, the reasons you're not making it happen all boil down to one thing.
It’s the voice inside you that says, “Why are you trying to change? Don’t you know how terrifying the great unknown is? Just stay here where it’s safe…”
I’ve dealt with that voice ALL my life, but I’ve found a way to shut it down, so it doesn’t get a vote.
Motivation can be elusive for a lot of people. As much as we’d like to have that feeling on tap, it just seems to dry up now and then.
Motivation can make a massive impact on your life. Without it, it’s way harder to accomplish your goals and make your dreams happen.
A study from a university network in Spain shows that the neurochemical dopamine plays a crucial role in motivation. Dopamine used to be only associated with positive emotions, but as it turns out, it also affects your desire to get things done.
What happens is that this hormone fires in the brain while anticipating the desired outcome. This, in turn, can motivate a person to make that outcome happen.
In another study, scientists found that rats were more likely to go through obstacles to get to some food if they had higher dopamine levels.
This shows that the feeling of motivation is something that comes from inside us. However, there are also external factors to consider.
And if you can put these together, you’ll create a healthy cycle. With that, let’s take a look at how you can inject more motivation into your life:
#1: Jumpstart Your Dopamine Production
Physical activity is one way you can directly influence your brain chemistry and set the stage for feeling motivated.
Exercise is a great way to trigger the release of feel-good hormones. Aside from dopamine, there's also serotonin, adrenaline, and endorphins that can put you in a state of post-workout bliss.
Don’t underestimate the link between your overall health and mental well-being. These directly affect your level of motivation, so make the time for cardio and other related activities.
But you don’t need to have an elaborate workout routine or splurge on fancy equipment and a gym membership. You can sweat it out on a budget by going on YouTube and making a playlist of basic exercises.
Taking walks is also incredibly beneficial too. And best of all, you can spend as little as 15-30 minutes a day doing this.
As you keep up this routine, you’ll feel better about yourself and feel motivated to do more. Suddenly, you’ll find the time for longer workouts and start doing other exercises as well.
Try doing it with other activities like watching TV or listening to an inspiring podcast. Also, you can do it during your work breaks to stay energized throughout the day.
Starting with baby steps makes it less overwhelming to get into this habit. Ease yourself into it, and you’re more likely to build traction and stick to it.
#2: Get Inspired
Another way to light that fire inside you is by looking to other people who have the level of success you want. Study their process and the steps they took to get where they are today.
Chances are they have a book, video blog, podcast, or some other medium where they teach other people to follow in their footsteps. Reading about their accomplishments and learning their story is an external source of motivation you can internalize.
Research from the American Psychological Association (APA) uncovered a phenomenon where you can create what they call “intrinsic rewards” by observing other people.
When you see someone enjoying what they do, that feeling is almost contagious. So in a way, these people can actually pass their motivation onto YOU.
#3: Get In The Driver’s Seat
Studies also show that the more you feel in control of a task or project, the more motivated you’ll be to see it through. On the contrary, feeling forced to do something drains your energy to get it done.
Most people don’t realize they act like their own boss and crack the whip on themselves. Not only is this approach demoralizing, but it's also incredibly demotivating.
Instead, try this little exercise:
Imagine negotiating with yourself, like a worker would with his or her boss. Discuss the things you need to get done today or this week and figure out what you'd get out of it.
In this dialogue, start by telling yourself, “Ok, so you need to come up with five business ideas today and choose the best one. Also, you need to do cardio for 15 minutes, either in the morning or afternoon.”
Then you’d say, “Ok, but if I do that, I get to watch an hour of Netflix or catch up on my book… whichever I feel like doing later.”
After you’ve gone back and forth and worked out the terms, you can shake on it and get to work.
By giving yourself options to choose from, you’ll feel more empowered – which, of course, boosts your motivation in the process.
Further research from the APA shows that you have a higher chance of getting work done (by up to 90 percent, in fact) by breaking down your big goals into smaller, specific tasks.
By quantifying your goals with a specific metric (e.g., do 30 pushups and 10 burpees in 30 minutes), it feels more concrete and doable. Once you have these mini-goals in place, you can start tackling them one by one.
Write your big goals, then make a list of related tasks under each one. Do this a day in advance (like the night before), so you can hit the ground running first thing in the morning.
Then as you chip away significant chunks from your overall goal, the more motivated you’ll feel.
Every time you accomplish one of these smaller, specific goals, you’ll be rewarded with a small dose of dopamine. This will give you the push you need to keep going until you’ve cleared all of your tasks.
#5: Visualize Your Future
While it's crucial to get motivation from accomplishing your goals, it's also helpful to give yourself a dopamine boost before getting started.
As such, you'll find that it's hugely beneficial to develop the habit of creating a vivid picture of your desired outcome. Spend about 5-10 minutes every day visualizing yourself enjoying your dream life as if it’s happening now.
As we discussed earlier, rats are more motivated to overcome those obstacles by anticipating the reward for doing it. In the same way, thinking about your hard work results will release neurochemicals that will get you pumped for the task ahead.
Think about what it would FEEL like to get your big goals done finally. Imagine the people in your life congratulating you and complimenting you on your efforts.
When you know exactly what’s waiting for you on the other side, you’ll suddenly lose all the excuses that were holding you back.
#6: Positivity In, Negativity Out
Your beliefs also have a great deal to do with being motivated. Perception is a dominant force, and it can dictate the very course of your life.
Besides visualizing the outcome, giving yourself the right beliefs is also an effective way to design your reality.
Affirmations are an excellent way to do this. These are statements you can repeat to yourself so you can rewire your belief system.
A lot of people operate on destructive beliefs because of bad experiences from the past. As a result, they go around carrying labels like “loser,” “hopeless case,” and “damaged.”
Going through life with this kind of baggage won’t just destroy your motivation…
… but undermine everything you do every step of the way.
That’s why you need to rewrite that story in your head by using powerful statements.
Here’s how to get started:
Think about the qualities you have that will help you accomplish your goals. Also, think about the things you’re grateful for.
Use these thoughts as the basis of your affirmations. These will remind you that you have what it takes to break past your limitations.
As with visualizing, pretend that it’s happening at the PRESENT moment – and not at some point in the future.
That way, you’ll feel empowered from knowing that you’re living that great truth here and NOW.
Here are some examples of affirmations you can use:
– Every day, I am getting stronger, smarter, and healthier. – I am a strong person who can deal with every obstacle and challenge that I encounter. – My life is filled with infinite opportunities to succeed, and I make the most of them every day. – I am surrounded by people who love and support me, and they want me to succeed.
Feel free to use affirmations or create your own—the more detailed, the better.
It’s more effective when you say these affirmations (either out loud or in your mind) right after doing your visualization exercises. You can do them right before going to bed or make it part of your morning ritual.
All of these habits have helped me plug the leaks in my “motivation tank.” If I’m feeling a bit jaded, fatigued, or burnt out, I make sure I’m doing each of these steps enough, so I don’t run on empty.
However, on top of staying motivated, there's one more habit that got me out of my own funk.
You see, like Michael, there was a time where I couldn’t overcome that inertia I felt. I was successful and fulfilled outside, but people around me didn’t know I felt burned out and desperate.
I started to feel like an impostor… until I accidentally came across a life-changing secret.
By making a small but powerful change in my mindset, I suddenly found the power to become the most authentic version of myself.
And more importantly, I could attract every opportunity without working 80 hours a week. Just like that, all sorts of blessings flowed into my life effortlessly.
You can do the opposite by using encouraging statements that will empower you to take action.
Here are some examples to try during your meditation sessions:
Affirmations that span across time: Think about what's already happened, what's happening now, and what's yet to come. Then put it all together like this: “BEFORE, I was broke, miserable, and hated the world. But I know better NOW and want to turn it around. Things are about to change, and SOON I'll be prosperous, happy, and living my dream life.”
Affirmations that are crystal clear: Saying something like “I am loved” or “I am blessed” is a good start, but they're a bit vague. Try elaborating on these ideas and flesh them out even more. Then you'll end up with a statement like, “I'm surrounded by people who love and support me. They help me grow as a person and want to see me succeed.” As for being blessed, you can say, “I'm blessed with infinite opportunities and resources, and my life is full and abundant.”
Affirmations with an attitude: Another way to supercharge your subconscious is by being a little cheeky with your statements. When that voice of fear and insecurity kicks in, drown out the noise with, “Whatever, I'm amazing at everything I do. I fight like hell and do my best, and I can't hear what you're saying!” Adding some lighthearted humor amplifies your signal and makes it easier for the Universe to hear your thoughts. Try this the next time you're feeling especially down on yourself.
When you improve your thoughts' quality, it's as if your circumstances will rearrange themselves on their own.
These changes will seem to happen without doing much on your part. But the truth is that you're already doing the heavy lifting by disciplining your mind.
Starting today, you can apply these five tips I've just shared with you to create ripples of change in your life.
The more you practice them, the bigger waves will result from your efforts. I hope you make use of this knowledge and empower yourself for greatness.
Before I go, there's ONE MORE gift I'd like to share with you…
